Melissa is the owner of Power of Touch, & a local to Jacksonville. She was previously trained & employed within the dental field. A new journey began in 2001, after she attended 625 hrs of Massage Therapy, & received her title as a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) from Coastal Carolina Institute of Massage Therapy & Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. It was from there she took the National Exam for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork Therapist & received her additional title as a Nationally Certified Massage & Bodywork Therapist (NCMBT). Melissa went on to obtain her Licensure as a North Carolina Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist (NC LMBT #3243). Melissa’s commitment to continuing education, has earned her the
additional titles; Medical Massage Practitioner (MMP), Pain Management
Specialist (PMS) & is working on her Orthopedic Massage Practitioner (OMP)
title. Melisssa is known as a "Continuing Education Junkie" and holds
additional certifications in Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release,
ROM-Restorative of Movement, Muscle Re-Education, Two-Thumbs Up,
Psychoneuroimmunology and Taut Band Therapy. Melissa's passion for the
field of Massage Therapy has encouraged her to be a mentor to many local
High School Seniors working on their Senior Projects, as well as mentoring
many of the therapist here in town. Melissa is committed to educating her community on the wonderful benefits of
Massage Therapy, as well as offering every client a safe, professional, peaceful atmosphere.
Melissa's drive to facilitate every clients' needs has encouraged her to
continue her education in Personal Training, so she can more effectively
assist clients with chronic pain and muscle re-education. It is true
